Child Dedications
Child dedications are a joint expression of a parent’s desire to raise godly children and our church’s commitment as a church to support you.
Dedicate your child in faith.
Parenting in the early stages isn’t easy, but with direction and intentionality, parents can begin to build a spiritual foundation that lasts.
Child Dedication is about parents and families making a commitment to partner with the church to raise their children in a Christ-centered home and to involve them in environments where their relationship with God can begin, grow, and flourish as they move through the phases of childhood.
At Faith Church, we practice Child Dedication as a modern adaptation of the interaction we see in the Bible between Jesus and children found in Mark 10:13-16:
13 One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so he could touch and bless them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering him. 14 When Jesus saw what was happening, he was angry with his disciples. He said to them, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. 15 I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.” 16 Then he took the children in his arms and placed his hands on their heads and blessed them.
Parents recognized that bringing their children to Jesus to be blessed was important. They desired their children to be touched and blessed by the Lord, and today we still desire that for our own children.
Child dedication is a way that we can take our children to be blessed by Jesus. We are taking a step to publicly declare that we desire for our children to know God and be known by Him. We are making a commitment as parents, and as the Church to do whatever we can to raise children to know and love Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
We invite families with children ages 0 – 4 years to participate in the dedication event.
Child dedications are scheduled throughout the spring and fall seasons. Visit our Events page to see when they’re scheduled for your campus.
